Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington Options, Inc. will no longer offer I&F Access PPO plans to current or new members.
What will my I&F Access PPO clients need to do?
Your clients don’t have to do anything now. Their current 2017 Access PPO plan will remain in place through the end of the year.
However, to avoid a coverage gap your clients will need to sign up for a new health plan during open enrollment. This year OE is from Nov. 1 through Dec. 15, 2017.
Will Kaiser Permanente offer other plans suitable for my clients?
Detailed information about Kaiser Permanente coverage options will be available in early October. These include Core HMO plans offered by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington, which feature integrated care from Kaiser Permanente care providers.
Will you notify my clients?
Yes. Existing Access PPO members will get a letter by June 21, 2017, informing them about the discontinuation. The letter advises these members to go to the Kaiser Permanente website (kp.org/wa/if) or contact you, the producer.
This is an opportunity to tell clients about the benefits of our Core HMO plans, when receiving care at a Kaiser Permanente medical office:
- Integrated care emphasizing prevention and disease management
- Patient-centered care that engages and empowers patients
- Care by top-ranked medical group in the state*
Existing members will get more information about what to do as they get closer to open enrollment in November.
Will you send me any other information?
Yes. We will include an informational flier in the upcoming sales kits. Materials will start going out mid-June.
Call our sales department at 1-800-358-8815 or call your sales executive.
